April News

April proves to be yet another busy month with plenty of exhibitions to choose from and other membership accomplishments to acknowledge. Consider attending one of the art openings mentioned below - it's a great way to see the breadth of work being created by our members, as well as providing an opportunity to touch base with each other and do a bit of networking. I think we're all ready to emerge from our studios after this long winter!

Thank you to everyone for sending in such complete entries, making my job much quicker. I am organizing these announcements in chronological order to make it easier for you to scan down and see what might mesh with your personal calendar. Stay in touch and please share your news so we can highlight it in May.

Celebrate the beauty of the Vermont landscape through a collection of work that reinterprets our connection with a place over time. By using a particular place as inspiration each artist is unveiling nature's ever changing beauty through the focused and repetitive study. Through this exploration we can witness the changing landscape and the artist's changing point of view. Featuring work by Karen Henderson, Jill Madden, Joe Salerno and Gowri Savoor.
Karen is also excited to announce that the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington, VT has acquired another of her artworks. "March Fog" will join her other fiber/mixed media pieces in their permanent art collection.

Eve Jacobs-Carnahan  was recently interviewed by the Wichita Eagle, newspaper in conjunction with the 2015 National Fiber Directions Exhibition, currently on view at the Wichita Center for the Arts, Wichita, KS.  Read the article here.

Her piece, "Knot Weed: Not Safe", is featured on their website and in publicity materials for the show. Not only is this a tribute to her beautiful work, but also a great example of the benefit of using a professional photographer.

Eve will also have work in the upcoming exhibit
