Happy New Year!
On ViewRoz Daniels reports that she will have photographs from her Rural Abstraction series on exhibit for the month of January at the Maple Valley Cafe in Plainfield. Based on the colors and shapes found on farms and logging sites in Cabot, Roz finds that her photography and her fiber work share a strong communion.
She notes: "Recently, I've discovered how photography can balance my fiber practice and how they inform each other. There are the obvious contrasts between the two. For me, photography is speedy (at least in the taking and initial viewing) and quilt compositions and completion are anything but. That said, while using the camera, I find myself searching for the same abstract geometric shapes and play of color that I love combining in fabric. I am excited to share my photographs with a community that knows my work in fiber."
