Rosalind Daniels writes that as winter fades to spring, she is often compelled to add to her series of Mud Season 9 Patch quilts. "Spring Leaves", another piece from this series, will be included in the Spring to Life exhibit at the 311 Art Gallery in Raleigh, North Caroline from May 7-29.

Elizabeth Fram's "The Secret She Keeps" has been selected for The Bones of Building, SDA's current online exhibit, curated by Mo Kelman
"The artworks in this exhibition reveal their skeletal structures and the story of their making. Structural "bones" are evident - we see how parts are organized and connected. The physical manipulations of building the surface and form, joining, fastening and intermingling materials, persist as vital images in the artwork. They provide not only the architecture of the work, but are essential to its expression."

Last month Roz Daniels captured a photo of her quilt "Right Matters" while visiting the Modern Quilt Guild's Retrospective exhibit at the National Quilt Museum (on view from April 8 - July 27).

At the same time, Roz was thrilled to discover Judy Dales quilt "Fire on the Water", currently on display as part of Sew Many Quilts, a celebration of the National Quilt Museum's 30th birthday. Judy's piece joined the Museum's permanent collection in 2000. Her work is one of 30 quilts selected for this show which includes the very first piece acquired by the Museum to the most recent.
